Colonial fowler from modern Belgian flintlock Take 2

Some of you will recall my post back in January where I reworked a more modern flintlock to represent a Colonial trade gun. That post is HERE for reference. Since then, I realized I could have done more to improve the appearance. So I stripped it down, thinned the forestock, and gave a better...

Tips from the server room - static

No, I didn't. The OP is referring to things that have nothing to do with traditional muzzleloaders, particularly reloading benches. Stop being an obtuse fool.

Plastic tubes? Reloading bench?? What does any of this have to do with traditional muzzleloaders?

    Maintaining stock with carving ?

Poly doesn't soak into wood but is just a plastic topcoat. I find it also changes the feel of wood, being plastic, and it's waterproofing ability is questionable. Have you ever tried Danish oil? It seals well, is easy to apply, and dries fast. I use it, then top with Ren wax.

SOLD - Pending funds Pietta Remington 1858 NMA

Write it on a slip of paper with the current date, take a pic of the item with the paper included. Too many people online post fake ads with someone else's photo, this is just a step the site mods put in place to help eliminate them.

Gotta read the classified guidelines, your ads need username and date showing with the item.

Where/how can I get a cheap powder horn? I can DIY most of it, I’m not picky.

Go to powderhornsandmore.com, the horn you order is the horn you get.

    The Feldflasche Canteen from GGGodwin

Yeah, I had to chase after them for an order. They need to advise people when things aren't in stock. To take money for goods advertised but not available is false advertising and possibly fraud. I got everything I ordered, but I will never use them again.

You're in the minority. And have you tried asking Godwin?

Does anybody recognize this stock marking?

This is under the buttplate of a modern flintlock trade gun. The barrel is marked Made in Belgium but has British proof marks, so I don't know where the stock was made. Anyone have an idea?

    Maintaining stock with carving ?

A soft towel with a thick nap is the best for buffing wax. A very soft brush may help in crevices.

    Question About Lighting

I saw a pic of an autobody shop with 12 or 16 overhead fixtures, in a grid pattern, all on independent switches. The light can be directed from any angle to highlight details as needed. You definitely have the right approach.
