    Thompson Center Hawken

That's why I bought this one. It's a bad time for me right now, I have been going through a nasty divorce since September 2019 but I couldn't pass this one up.

    Thompson Center Hawken

I have wanted one for a long time. I think it was Christmas 1979, My ex brother-in-law and I both received muzzleloader kits. He got the T/C Hawken and I got the CVA Mountain Rifle. I finished the CVA kit and still hunt with it to this day.

    Thompson Center Hawken

I'll have to post some pics. I did look down the bore and it looked good. The frizzen didn't have any pitting, I don't think it was fired more than a few times.

    Thompson Center Hawken

It is sad...it was only a mile down the road for me. I have known the owner for about 25 years.

    Pedersoli Pennsylvania Long Rifle

I was looking on Pedersoli's website, it looks like the Pennsylvania rifle is not available in .50 caliber flintlock?

    Pedersoli Pennsylvania Long Rifle

Loyalist Dave, what are the differences between the Frontier Rifle and Pennsylvania rifle? If I can go in armed with some knowledge maybe I can get him to deal.

    Pedersoli Pennsylvania Long Rifle

Thanks, I realized I left out the caliber after I posted. It's a .50 caliber. This Gun Store is usually on the high end with their prices so I'm not surprised it's not any kind of deal.

    Pedersoli Pennsylvania Long Rifle

My local gun store just got a Pedersoli Pennsylvania Long Rifle in with a collection of estate guns he bought. He's asking $549 I have always wanted one of these, is this a fair price. Looks to be in good condition, I don't see any rust or pitting.

    Old powder horn

Thanks, I wish I could remember what the story was about it. My dad and grandfather have both passed on so there is nobody to ask. I know my Great Grandfather was in the civil war and before him there are revolutionary war ancestors. I'll definitely cherish it and pass it on...

    Old powder horn

It looks like someone painted a design on it at some point, that's what you see smeared on it. As far as fasteners it looks like some kind of small nails but I cant be sure. I try a magnet on them.
