    First BP gun I bought back in late 70’s. Purchased at the Hawken shop in St Louis. Curved butt plate uncomfortable to shoot so eventually traded for Lyman Deerstalker. Wish I had kept it now.

    I grew up in Stoutsville and Tom Abel lived up the hill from us. Was at their house all the time. Spent many hours with Rex, Tom’s son. Tom and my father were close friend. Even after their house was basically destroyed by the worst hail storm I have ever witnessed we used to go visit them...

    Fancy maple originally ordered 40 caliber but changed my mind and called to switch to 45. Email notification however listed 40 so won’t really know until kit received
