    In 1975 I built a Navy Arms Brown Bess. I still have her. My mom wouldn’t let me have a center fire weapon but a flint lock and a few lbs of powder were ok. My friends and I used our muskets to hunt ground hogs and black birds.

    Its been decades since I shot my long rifle and musket. Time just slips away. What powder and grains do you recommend for a Brown Bess and a 50 cal long rifle. I used to use 3F at 80 grains for the rifle and it would drive tacks at 100 yards.
