I just put weaver bases on my daughters deerhunter. I'll see if I can find the part number because it wasn't listed on their website.

    Repairing a cracked stock

Well, I glued the stock back together a couple nights ago using a premium wood glue. I blew it further into the crack using a compressor and then wrapped a few loops of rope around the wrist. I stuck a screwdriver through the knot and twisted the rope tight until the crack was closed (the...

    Repairing a cracked stock

Thanks for all the tips fellas, I've looked much closer at it and I'm pretty sure I can fix it myself. I've got some surgical tubing in my range box already - it's quite handy for grabbing on to a stuck ram rod.

    Repairing a cracked stock

So I had my muzzle loader in a soft case strapped to the rack of the quad. It stuck out a bit and I must have tagged it with a tree. The stock is cracked from the top by the hammer on the front right to just above and behind the trigger on the left side. Can anyone recommend a gunsmith or...

Hunting Alberta whitetails - Chapter 1

Hunting Alberta Whitetails ”“ Chapter 2 So, after missing the shot on a huge whitetail doe I made my way back to camp. My other hunting buddy Dave showed up soon after and we made plans for the next day. We slept in a bit the next morning, probably due to the rum, and didn’t get back to the...

Hunting Alberta whitetails - Chapter 1

I just returned from a week of hunting WMU 328 west of Rocky Mountain House, Alberta. I’d taken my new-to-me Jonathan Browning .54 mountain rifle and was hoping to put it to use. The weather was fantastic and the hunting was even better. I was not disappointed and managed to fill both of my...

    Powder prices

I bought some Goex here in Canada and it was $36/lb. I can't remember what I paid for the last few pounds of Triple 7 but I think it was less than that.

    Youth sized muzzleloaders?

We took the girls to the range yesterday and they had a blast with their .22's. Towards the end my oldest daughter (12) asked to fire my muzzleloader. So, I loaded 30 grains into my .54 Browning Mountain rifle and let her have a go. After she fired it she looked at my with huge eyes and said...

Although it looked pretty good I disassembled, cleaned and oiled the lock. It seems to work good now. If only the weather would cooperate so I could get out to the range... Thanks
