    replacing lock on Pedersoli Kentucky

For me, it helps to go from the simplest to the most complex solutions for any shooting problem. Would it work better to replace the frizzen? Next would be to get the right sized flint? May do well to get the right flint first. Not sure anybody in this area would or could re-harden a frizzen...

    Your first muzzleloader?

My first muzzle loader was the earthly remains of a Lorenz .54 caliber rifle musket. My Dad bought if for $1.50 in a pawn shop when I was a kid. The front half was missing. Next came a old Belgian made 12ga SxS. Still have the Austrian rifle musket fragment.

.45 cal barrel for a Seneca

Some years back we fitted a GM 40 caliber barrel to a Seneca. The breech plug came from TOW and is in the catalog today. This allows the the replacement plug to go into the GM barrel. Worked great. Yes, it requires fitting and cutting dovetails etc.

    TC custom shop question

I had a .32 Seneca barrel from the custom shop. This barrel had roll marks but did not have "Seneca". This barrel was ordered as and fit a Seneca.

I hope I have not ruined my muzzloader?Help!!

My Experience:I have of late added to my cleaning procedure. My main solvent is half water and half Ballistol. Using this and water and WD 40 as described works well. The new twist came with the use of homemade Ed's Red. Carbon is carbon so it appeared the effort was worthwhile. It was a...

    Rusty Bore....What to do?

I was downsizing and had accumulated several T/C's including a Seneca. Put three or four on "Gun broker". Might check out Gun Broker for a current price on T/C's. T/C's don't go for $75.00 any longer. I have cleaned out some bad looking bores by leaving the them soak in Kroil. After further...

T/C Patriot in .45 or .36 for target shooting?

Back in the day the Patriot had become a semi-custom order. Evidently, the factory fire killed this and the Seneca off. Along with a friend, we were getting into BP match shooting. I was able to find and buy a new .45 caliber Patriot that is still in my possession. My friend found a neat CVA...

    Question on reproduction firearms

I can't address the Italian or India made flintlocks. The experience with Italian made cap lock guns has been spotty on the best day. Got two 1853 Enfield copies from a large large mail order company. Of these guns one was usable and the other was junk. The third was a second hand two band rifle...

Are guns by investarms any good

I got the idea that the Lyman GPR and Investarms were made by the same folks. Had an Investarms that belonged to a friend that was broken. Cabelas came to the rescue with replacement parts. The rifles are decent and appear to be a T/C knockoff.

Why you never buy a Pedersoli Continental Duelling o Kentucky Gun

I have learned who not to buy muzzle loading firearms from. Have had two Enfield's from Cabelas that were second class. Saw others of the same make that were also second class. These were brands that were noted by local shooters as being turkeys. One shooter had problems with one of these...

    Found a nice Plainsman

The CVA turned into a lamp was bad. Worse was when I was shown a cherry Parker Snow M1861 rifle musket the had been made into a lamp.

    TC Hawken Hammer Issue

Ditto on being gummed up. Had a Renegade that had been cleaned and stored. The yellow goop had solidified in the set triggers. Cleaned the trigger out and all works fine. Always start with the simplest cause and to the more complicated.

    T/c cracked stock

I have had T/C replace cracked stocks on rifles. These were factory finished guns. I have had stocks patched on second hand kit guns with similar cracks and have had years of use. Might do well to contact maker. This was done prior to the recent sale of the company.

    Score: My new T/C Cherokee

I had some problems with my Seneca and contacted TC after the fire. I was sent the necessary parts plus some other pieces to keep rifle and Patriot going. Promise, these parts were covered in soot. I was thankful to get'um!

    TC New englander 54 cal

Have had this happen twice in my life. Once, fifty years or so ago, was shooting with another person when his "new"-to him- muzzle loading rifle discharged. No telling how long that thing had been loaded. More recently I bought a 12ga. SxS ML shotgun and found previous owner had dry balled two...
