    replacing lock on Pedersoli Kentucky

    For me, it helps to go from the simplest to the most complex solutions for any shooting problem. Would it work better to replace the frizzen? Next would be to get the right sized flint? May do well to get the right flint first. Not sure anybody in this area would or could re-harden a frizzen...

    Your first muzzleloader?

    My first muzzle loader was the earthly remains of a Lorenz .54 caliber rifle musket. My Dad bought if for $1.50 in a pawn shop when I was a kid. The front half was missing. Next came a old Belgian made 12ga SxS. Still have the Austrian rifle musket fragment.

    .45 cal barrel for a Seneca

    Some years back we fitted a GM 40 caliber barrel to a Seneca. The breech plug came from TOW and is in the catalog today. This allows the the replacement plug to go into the GM barrel. Worked great. Yes, it requires fitting and cutting dovetails etc.

    Found a nice Plainsman

    The CVA turned into a lamp was bad. Worse was when I was shown a cherry Parker Snow M1861 rifle musket the had been made into a lamp.

    TC Hawken Hammer Issue

    Ditto on being gummed up. Had a Renegade that had been cleaned and stored. The yellow goop had solidified in the set triggers. Cleaned the trigger out and all works fine. Always start with the simplest cause and to the more complicated.

    T/c cracked stock

    I have had T/C replace cracked stocks on rifles. These were factory finished guns. I have had stocks patched on second hand kit guns with similar cracks and have had years of use. Might do well to contact maker. This was done prior to the recent sale of the company.

    TC New Englander .50 cal

    I use one of the wire brush tips that TOW and others sell. It's possible to put a patch on this wire tip and clean concave portions of the breech plug in my rifles.
