Friends, our 2nd Amendment rights are always under attack and the NRA has been a constant for decades in helping fight that fight.
We have partnered with the NRA to offer you a discount on membership and Muzzleloading Forum gets a small percentage too of each membership, so you are supporting both the NRA and us.
Kodiak, there isn't a short answer to the biological argument about non-native or invasive species. In Florida we have a large number of both and they are real problems. It's one thing to talk about theoretical ideas, but I wonder what your opinion would be if you had thirty hogs in your yard...
This happened west of where we hunt. Helos are not necessarily the answer to hog hunting.

I traded a friend for his .54 GPR and I really like it. It shoots ragged holes at 50 yards. I use .530" RB, .018" patch, 50-60gr FFg for target practice. When hunting I load 100gr FFg.
I like the GPR so much that I bought a Lyman .54 pistol kit. When I built it I just centered the sights in...
Now I have to wear glasses to see the target clearly, but I have always worn safety glasses when shooting any firearm. I also wear them during any work that can put steel chips, filings, rust, stuff thrown by the weed whacker, etc in my eyes.
In my career as a firefighter I never once worried about black or smokeless powder. Lightweight residential construction is a far greater threat to firefighters than anything stored in a house.
I store both types of powder in original containers away from sources of ignition. Beyond that I...
I was twenty-one years old before I found out there were people who hunted rabbits without dogs. Coming from that background it seems you'd have to be a little...touched...to hunt without a dog. HOWEVER, there were times when we saw a rabbit before the dog or dogs smelled it. That usually only...
Although not recommended, people get away with violating one safety rule at a time, in this case having his hand over the muzzle of a loaded rifle. It's when they violate two at a time (hand/rag near trigger) that things go badly.
Sadly there a lot of people in the woods and elsewhere that...
Lube makes more difference than you might think. In one barrel I went from .018" ticking to .016 pre-lubed patches and the accuracy got better with the thinner patch and different lube. Don't take for granted that thick patching is absolutely necessary.
I've also found that there may be...
I agree that shooting a large group of people increases the odds of hitting one of them, but
it's hard for me to imagine a group of officers staying stationary while you get the range on them.
My informed guess would be that the distance is exaggerated in most of the long range shot stories.
I have no idea if they're still in business, but I found this:

Also found this as of 2010: 20049 W State Highway Z
