    To the older guys…

I’ve dealt with Rock Island Auctions (Illinois) a few times. They take most anything but low end stuff & they get 25%, but they’re fair & have a nationwide following . I’m lucky having only a 3 hour drive there & have been happy dealing with them.

    Antonio Zoli and Company, Italy

My Zoli/Navy Arms M1803 was a flint basher & had a badly fitted breech plug that you could unscrew by hand!!! I traded for a Euroarms .54 M1841 after informing the new owner of the breech plug issue. The Euroarms Mississippi is an excellent piece in every respect.

    Traditions Durability?

Traditions percussion locks are very reliable, but it wouldn’t hurt to pick up a spare mainspring & sear spring from the Log Cabin Shop or Deer Creek.

    Traditions St.Louis Hawken kit

I highly recommend these nice quality kits but junk the polymer sights & delrin ramrod.

Question about Loyalist Arms and Repairs

I owned a Heritage Arms long land pattern musket & after refinishing the stock & tuning the lock, it served me well through a number of years reenacting F&I. I proofed it using heavy powder charges & ball. I believe they overbuild these guns, so they safe. I sold it to another reenactor, who is...

    Pedersoli Indian Trade Musket questions

According to an email from Pedersoli cust. service, they use a hot chemical bath not unlike a hot bluing bath to brown their barrels. It’s not paint or epoxy.

    Pedersoli Brown Finish

This is not factual. Pedersoli cust service emailed the browning process they utilize. Its a hot chemical bath like a hot bluing process but takes a little longer. I asked about my Rocky Moutain Hawken brown.
