    Thanks every body for the info.I used barrel blaster and got some black stuff out of nipple. Now maybe back to the gun range as soon as the snow stops.

    I bought a hawken at auction. It was made by interarms. My problem is if #11 caps are hot enough to shoot it. I must of had some trouble between the nipple and powder.So I ran a lot of cleaner through it.Can sabbots be used in it ?

    I would get a cva synthetic rod with threads on each end and T handle .Then keep the wooden one under for looks.Cut it to look good. You need a good cleaning rod any way.

    A story in the news from Ohio, said a person was shot from a mile and half away.Is this possible with a muzzle loader? Civil War stories say that a Whitworth was .

    Schneider & Glassick "Accidental" Replica

    I am reading a book called Arms and equipment of the confedercy ,by time life books.The S & G is not listed on page 58 & 59.I have an accidental replica of one,and posted a picture of it earlier this year. They are fun to shoot,but it does not fit my hand like the 44 Colt Army.
