    I misunderstood the guy in the video as well the first time. He is using the wrong word, seam, when he means flashing. Ordinarily this kind of mix up wouldn't be a big deal, but in this context, it makes a big difference.

    I like the 32s and I'm a little jealous. By the time I had the resources to buy one, they had stopped making them. I looked a bit ago and Green Mountain had even dropped all the 32 barrels off their catalog. Very cool.

    Starting load advice?

    One of the aspects of single shot pistols I like the most is that I can vary the charge, especially to the down side. I've shot a 50 cal with as little as 5 grains of FFFg (~360 fps) to 40 grains of FFFg (~1040 fps). If your main use is paper targets or tin cans, I would start on the lower side.

    That was interesting; looks like a few people made some nice wheellocks out of those kits, with a fair bit of work and new springs. ...I'm getting the build a wheellock bug again, too.

    Paper Cartridge Woes

    I recently got some of those hair papers and I am going to try powder packets as well. I don't like handling loose powder at the range and I'm not trying to be historically correct, so I think that's a good option. I'm curious how you go with them and if you have any tips once you try them out.

    I did make that wheellock. It's based on the Lauber book plans....loosely. I made it a while ago, and plan to do another sometime, it was fun to make.

    Revolver Capper

    I did the same with a few of those straight cappers. A little file work and they fit well in the small area that a revolver affords.

    Thanks. I read the original question as: historically incorrect, Rube Goldberg matchlock ideas, so that is where I was going with my comment. I took it as a "crazier the better". Also, words are not my strong suit, so what was in my head, may not have out properly....
