Hi everybody

I am new to the forum but not to muzzleloader shooting.
About 50 years ago I bought my first muzzleloader gun, an italian "Hawken" replica.

My special interest concerns powder flasks and powder horns, and I got a small collection of European horns and flasks, and I hope to get in connection with some other collectors or people who are interested in powder flasks and horns.

Another Howdy and Welcome from Texas!
We visited Germany twice while my son was at Ramstein. We LOVED the country! The countryside is beautiful, the local beer is always good, and the people tolerate polite Americans warmly.
While in Old Town Salzberg, I picked up some Bavarian lederhosen. I won an Octoberfest contest with them in Texas. The store was Trachten Stolzer, with the slogan "Flippig - Fetzig - Frech."
Visited in July, and it was as hot as Texas!
We also visited over Christmas, and attended the Christmas markets all over Germany. I use the glühwein mugs for tea now.

It really was!
The Christmas Markets are so cool! As Powder Flask Collector knows, craftsmen set up temporary shops in the Market area, and sell all kinds of crafts and things, lots of high-quality, German-made wood crafts like nutcrackers and the candle-things that spin when you light the candles. One market had a giant reproduction of one as their shop! I bought a German-made classic grey herringbone wool cap there. Since the weather is cold, warm Glühwein is a favorite drink, and you get to keep the ceramic Market mug, with the town name and year. The booths that the vendors set up are built to last, even though the market is temporary. I recommend a visit to anyone, and especially if you have a kid in the Service over there. They'll appreciate your visit, and you'll have a great time!
