We were there about 20 minutes. I didn’t want to take up too much of his time.
My heart goes out to the many Folks that are willing to take a chance and keep a place like this going. it,s not easy especially in rural area,s.
I would have pestered him until I was asked to leave....

.There are many Folks whom take on the Burden and Journey on taking on this kind of thing. The caveat is keeping it alive through groundswell support.
Most communities with this kind of Historical Icon have hard times keeping it afloat. Sad thing is most go into default and decay whereas eventually the town will tear down the structure. And it,s gone forever. Sad stuff...

You will never see this kind of stonework done again. It was done and it was done for a reason.

No we didn’t take the tour, I wish we would have.
I do beleive that o/u was a swivel breech shotgun. I’m not sure what the gauge was. There was so much to look at, we didn’t spend much time looking at any one thing.

Do you know what the room rate is?
They have different rates for different rooms, cheapest being 175$ per night and the most expensive I THINK was 250$ per night. However reservations are a must! We had thought about spending the night there and called the day before left…all the rooms were booked. If you eat after 5 pm reservations are also a must, we ate around 1 and went right in. The supper menu isn’t cheap either, I want to say it’s 50-75$ per plate. The dinner menu was cheaper, 15-20$ per plate. The food was worth it as everything was very tasty! We will be going back for sure!
