A book ordered Dec. 7 has been laying in the DC mail facility for a week, it took it 8 days to get out of Texas. Something from 35 miles away took 12 days after sitting in DC for days. Another item ordered got delivered in only 5 days by the Post Office, it wasn't routed thru DC. On the other hand I placed an order yesterday and UPS delivered it today!!!!!
Merry Christmas all

Worst year ever for the USPS and I'm still awaiting 4 presents that were ordered weeks ago and will obviously not be delivered by Christmas, though it was promised that they'd be here when they were ordered. OK, I'll get over it, but I had one really troubling experience this year and have heard some absolute horror stories from others. I don't blame my local post office or the rural carriers, but I'm not a big fan of the USPS any more.

Round here , some times , carriers mix the mail up and if a kind neighbor or two notices , mail gets put in correct boxes. If folks gripe too much , post office says , yal can come and git it yerself and we'll just cancel the route. Yal are jist a bunch of useless deplorables any way.......

So far FedEx and USPS has delivered about a dozen items that we didn't order......,
Funny how they are NEVER stuff from Nuts.Com or Harry & David or Omaha Steaks, so we turn them in to be directed to the right location.
OK YES, I admit if a misdirected package of Holiday Steak hit my porch, that I didn't order nor pay for, I'm going to eat it! A man can only take so much.....

Tell me about it! I cant get raw horns shipped here fast enough. They go into a black hole and spin for weeks. The horns I shipped have taken up to two weeks to emerge.
Worst I saw was a silver half cent from the 1850's. I t was shipped in a bubble envelope. I followed the tracking for 4 weeks! When it finally showed up the shipper refunded my money and said "for the aggravation, keep it".
Tiny little thing, but real silver and wanted to use it as a inlay on a powder horn knob.

Not this year, but in the past.....had 10 Ipods show up I didn't order. Wrapped them in a plastic bag, put it back on the porch so the shipper could retrieve them.
Well, after a month went by and nobody looked for them I re-homed them on Ebay. 😋

I got a Moroccan powder horn on the 22nd. which had been in the possession of the USPS since the morning of 11-27. It took from 11-27 to 12-4 to move less than 50 miles in the same state and stayed at the 2nd. location till 12-9. From there it was 9 more days to Richmond, VA and the 4 more days (170 miles) to my PO box. Am I happy about that? No but I do understand USPS is faced with some real issues. First is absentee from the covid virus and handling social distancing. Second they are faced with a tremendous increase in shipping with people staying home and ordering online. Finally the Christmas mail rush hits them and it's not just the normal Christmas rush. With travel restrictions and people being forced to stay home for the Holidays I can't even imagine how much extra load was placed on the system. Let's not even discuss the political side of the problem or budget limitations. I don't blame the workers themselves nor the basic system. It was dealt a blow that few could have foreseen. I still support the USPS and will continue to use it as my primary shipper. I hope it will survive (without political restructuring) and the service will return to pre-covid levels.

Personally, had not experienced any issues with the USPS until this year. This fall had a package that tracking showed delivered, but a no show. Call local USPS office and nice lady confirmed delivery. To the wrong address. The correct address was on the package by the sender, but the ‘official’ label was different. They actually had a copy of both labels in their system. Would not tell me the delivery address because of privacy..... but they would leave a message in their mail box asking for return..... Had a message on the answering machine (knew I kept the landline for a reason) that evening when I got home from a guy a few miles away stating he had my muzzleloader parts. He was waiting for some parts for an AR build and opened the package before reading the label. Turns out my bride knows his family. So I guess this one was a successful delivery, despite the best efforts of the USPS to do otherwise. Currently the bride has been tracking a package from across the state since before Thanksgiving. Tracking stopped a few weeks ago. USPS told her not to worry, it would be delivered. It popped up on tracking again Monday of this week..... I believe she told me it was at a Post Office in Oklahoma. She had canceled the order after a month of no delivery. Who knows if or when it will be back in North Carolina.

I just got a couple packages I ordered last month (11/24 and 11/27). Reminds me of the old pre-interwebz days. "Please allow 6-8 weeks..." 😄

I have packages the show they have been scanned into the system, but then they don't get heard from again until they are delivered. Other packages get scanned into and out of every stop along the way. Go figure.

I have a set of handgun grips that left Champaign, IL twenty-two days ago and have yet to be scanned into another USPS facility.

I'm not sure how long their trucks stay on the road but I'm betting it's not 22 days.

So, I filled out the lost parcel form online and sent it to USPS.....they emailed me back two days later with the subject line RESOLVED. They still have no idea where my package is but, you know....COVID. They really are worthless.

You kidding I shipped a package flat rate 2day express dropped it off the morning of the 21st by afternoon it left my post office went to distribution sat there until 23 rd shows up at destination distribution on the 24th still sitting there. I set up all notifications it is now day 4 have not received 1 notification at the number I used. That it has even moved from my post office. Yes I got confirmation on the number I used and what services I selected. I’ve been tracking it myself. So if you can’t even get electronic confirmation. What can you expect
