The spring tab on my Irish charger broke.Any ideas where to get a replacement spring?

A friend said he could make me one from a car distributor spring. Need to take him up on that while there are still some distributors and springs around. :shocked2:
 
Have you tried Deer Creek Products in Waldron, Indiana? He has all kinds of parts and may possibly have what you need. If that fails, you may find a machinist who can make one for you if you have the old one for him to copy.
 
bout a year & 1/2 ago i broke mine and after making a new one from an old bandsaw blade, i found a place on the internet that sells the part, i think it was dixie, aka DGW, tho i cant seem to find it now. I'll keep digging.

wish i had found this before i put about 1/2 day into makin the one i did. ended up makin 'bout 4 of em before i got one tempered about right that didn't snap off like a toothpick. :wink:
 
I got the springs today.Now figure out HOW to get it in there?Do I heat the end off and resolder?Do I nip the end off short and just bend? :idunno:
