Scanned the topics but did not see an answer. Why possibles? Where does this term come from?

Tim :hmm:

"Anything you could possibly need"
at least thats what I've always been told!

So true I don't carry a possibles bag. I carry an impossibles bag. It is impossible to find what I put in it! :hmm: :hmm: . Which is why in addition to my impossibles bag, I wear a belt pouch with what I expect to need while hunting or target shooting. :yakyak:

i second that and resemble that as well, one is my shot bag, the other is, well, give me ten min's or 5 feet of room and i just might have it :rotf:bag

I was always under the impression the shooting bag is completely different from a possibles bag. the shooting bag being only things needed for shooting while the possibles bag was more or less what we in the east would call a haversack. carrying all necessary items for eating etc. etc.

Lewis an clark where straight Military,,and so was the haversack

"possibles" was Mountain Man, so all are correct in the proper context, but all are not the same

are they taters, spud's or potato's ?
