My wife ordered me two longrifle cases from Northwest Traders for our anniversary :

1. Buckskin case w/fringes and wool interior. Moose antler button to secure flap. It is beautiful and fitting for a custom flintlock. Believe price was around $130.00

2. Whitney blanket case for the small caliber flintlock. Again, workmanship is excellent. Good for trips to and from the range. Around $40.00.

The owner of Northwest Traders told me of a situation where a rifle was stored for years in one of his buckskin cases, buried in the ground! The rifle was found to be in good shape when recovered.

There's a guy on some of the auction sites making blanket gunsocks with an elkhide tip. I got two from him several years ago, and I've been happy. I thik he was amenable to custom orders then. Sorry, can't even remember his name  , but I saw some ads a week or so ago that looked like the same guy.
