Original brass flask by Dixon and Sons. An uncommon flask design with a heavy copper body. This is #925 in Riling's Powder Flask Book and is noted as being scarcer for the collector.
This is common size flask for servicing a rifle or fowler. Seams are all intact and valve works correctly, however the spout is jammed. I can see the adjustable outer collar has been forced over the head of the set screw. Soaking it and some effort may free it, but as an original I did not want to risk damaging it. A couple small dents and some green spotting (it is copper) on the reverse, but to be expected in a hunting tool around 170 years of age. Likely cleaned, probably more than once, but in overall very good condition.
Collectible or a nice complement to your original rifle or fowler.
