Holger

Sorry... now in English
Hello all, I'm from Germany. My name is Holger and my English is not so good. But it's handmade, not by Google...:) :) :)
I'm on your side because I have an original Sharps .50-70 Gov from 1852 (??). I would like to find out more about this. That's why I would like to post some pictures here and ask you for your opinion.
Best regards
Holger

Welcome from Maine. My people came from Wurttumberg in 1754. Post your photos and questions in the Original Antique Firearms section.

Welcome, Holger, from East Anglia, not far from you.

Your Model 1852 Sharps carbine is not a muzzleloader, but uses a metallic cartridge. This forum is intended mostly for muzzleloaders - hence its name.

Do you have any firearms like that?

Terry to the rescue!
Holger, the N-SSA.org Bulletin Board is a good place to go for information about your Sharps -- probably either a New Model 1859 or a New Model 1863.
Also castboolits.com

I would need better pics to tell if it's a centralfire conversation. . But I'm far from an expert.

Welcome from Gettysburg Pennsylvania.

Welcome from New York State's Central-Leatherstocking region.

Wilkommen. All I remember from High-school German is "Ich fahre zum Krankenhaus" and/und "Das ist aber schade". But I don't remember why "the" needed all those aliases. ;-)
