Hello to all,

I’m not a big black powder collector... and even less of a reproduction owner. However, when a good deal comes along... I’m always an interested buyer.

So... I came across an ad for a reproduction 1860 revolver for sale. To my surprise, it had been for sale for several weeks with little to no interest. I’m a military collector... after looking at the pics in the ad, I decided to reach out to the seller and tell him I’ll buy his revolver for his asking price.

I have to admit, I didn’t know much about this revolver when I purchased it, but thought it would look great in my military collection. The seller believes he purchased this piece in the 70’s... it’s never been shot.

The top of the barrel reads... “1863 Gettysburg 1863”. On the side reads... Replica arms, Marietta, Ohio. I added a couple photos of this .44 cal beauty. I assume it’s worth more than the $200 invested... beautiful case hardened frame.

From my limited research, replica arms was the importer and these revolvers were made in Italy. I haven’t seen many of this particular model during my online search... any information would be great.

Nice purchase but I think you have a .36 1861 Navy. The .44 Army would have the rebated cylinder to accept the larger chambers and a notch cut in the water table to accommodate the wider cylinder.

Looks like the date on the side is XXIII which would be 1967. That would put it the Ken Phelps/Replica Arms time in the Marietta, Georgia period of 1965 to 1973. Replica Arms also made the Gettysburg commemorative revolvers when they were owned by Leonard Allen in El Paso, Texas 1963 to 1965. You don't see many of them for sale. I doubt replica Arms produced very many of them.

Hello everybody and thank you for the responses. Seller is 86yo... so he might’ve got the caliber wrong or sent the wrong revolver (lol). Anyways, I’m very happy with the purchase either way. I figure this to be a commemorative piece and limited production. I really do appreciate the responses and information by all.

good looking pistol be he obviously forgot that he shot it a bunch or he shipped the wrong gun as it has obviously been used quite a bit judging from the wear on the cylinder.
