HERE is a video from the far east province of India, Nagaland, that borders Myanmar (Burma). This majority Christian region has a deep gun culture, they still build and live off the land with smoothbore percussion guns. Wouldn't have much of a problem going to church every sunday if it was like this! They are living the mountain man rendezvous everyday.

Taking a rifle along to church with the family in their wagon was pretty standard back in the day in America. There were dangers along the roads. Then, after service, while the women prepared dinner the men would have shoot competition. This may have been where the term 'buggy rifle' started.
