How many shots do you get when it is cold? Average of three is maximum in this area it seems. Our monthly shoots average 30 shots.
My usual shooting in real cold temperatures is for hunting so maybe 2 to 3 shots. Patches are prelube with Bore Butter kept in a bag close to my body for warmth . I know the problems of using this stuff, but it is a easy fix and has always work great for me.

Any time Bore Butter is mentioned, someone always says they use it in cold weather with no problems. I say they are full of manure, and tell them they need to actually go outside where it is cold and shoot. Anyone shoots well with a lazyboy and a well sighted in keyboard.
true bore butter does stiffen up in the cold, however when kept in my shirt pocket they work fine at our winter shoots -20 to 35 degrees here in God's country Minnesota

50/50 bear oil/deer tallow.

I've tested this lube with patching material left in the freezer for a couple days. Will not freeze.

I like old school stuff.
