Up for grabs is a Lyman Great Plains Rifle chambered in .50 cal. It’s in excellent condition save for a couple very minute handling marks across the lock (pictured).I don’t believe this rifle has more than perhaps a couple dozen rounds through it, if that! I could be mistaken, but I’d imagine there’s a lot more options and availability when it comes to .50 cal conicals.

It’s a sweet rifle, and I’d be hanging onto it if it weren’t for the fact I’ve already got a T/C Renegade in .50 that suits me better for my style of hunting (from a tree stand) due to its short length.

I believe you’re correct. It’s their “Hunter” models that have the faster twist for conicals.

Wish it was a Hunter version. By the time I buy a new barrel, it would be hard to justify. Nice looking rig though.

Ya, I am hoping I can find one. I had a Gemmer Hawken and a 1-24 barrel for it in a shopping cart. Couldn’t pull the trigger, by the time I buy both I am over $1K. At that point I should just buy the Pedersoli Missouri River. lol.
