When I'm ill, my go to prescription is:

Rum (about a third of the total drink)
Lemon or Lime Juice
Honey
Warm Water
Drugs

The basic British recipe for grog was rum and water with citrus juice (lime or lemon, whichever they had). The ratio of rum to water depended on ones rank, the higher the rank, the greater was the proportion of rum to water. There were variations and sugar was added when it was available.
