I need to lighten the trigger pull on my 1861 Euroarms Springfield. An overzealous safty officer when checking the half cock on the rifle chipped the sear. No replacement parts are available. I purchased a new sear and tumbler from Dixie Gun Works and fitted them to the lock resulting in an eight pound trigger pull. Should I keep honing the sear? What would you gentleman suggest? Thanks in advance.
