WITHDRAWN CVA 45 cal (withdrawn)

I am listing one of my rifles.
It belonged to my step father and I haven’t shot BP in years.
It’s an old 70’s vintage CVA 50 cal.
I don’t have a bore scope or anything but it looks clean and in nice shape to me. Not sure what’s fair but thought I’d start at $275.00 plus shipping.
I’m a woodworker by trade so I’ll build a wood box for it and wrap it like a vase.

I’d have said a Kentucky.

I think it is a Kentucky and to be honest a very nice one at that! Those guns are Notorious for just being plain old ugly hahaha and I love CVA! But this one was done very well, Would be a nice gun to start out or a gift for someone starting out

Don't take any thing less than your offering price, depending upon its fitting of barrel to the stock breech face.

Beautiful Kentucky long gun. Someone knew how to finish beach wood. If I didn't already have two of them I'd buy it.

That's a nice one. I assembled my first kit like that one in 2010. My first venture into black powder. Got the pistol next. Then a revolver. Next thing that happened I had nearly 15 black powder guns.

I have that in flint, .45 cal. It shoots very well, lock speed not great compared to better locks but what the heck, not an expensive kit. I built mine as my second rifle, after my CVA Mountain in .50 cal. Completed it around 1979.
I think that is a fair price to start.

Can you easily remove the nipple? Sometimes these get neglected and the nipples rust in place (through improper cleaning and/or lack of oiling before storage).

These can be incredibly accurate. People have won competitions using these against custom muzzleloaders. And you can upgrade the locks using and L&R if you want (or if you wear out the original).

I do want to try a kit. I don’t hunt but I love to shoot. My interests are more WWI to the Cold War era. Admittedly because I’m too impatient but these old long rifles are just cool.
