What are your recommendations for cleaning a pewter nose cap and a German Silver patch box? This is on a CVA Mountain Rifle.

I like my guns to look old. I'd never try to remove the patina. I'm sure any metal polish like Mother's would work.

You know, after I posted that, I cleaned the barrel and looked at the rifle. I like the old look of it. I think that I will keep it mostly that way. The nose cap sure would look better if it matched the patchbox, but it is OK like it is...

I have a infatuation with my dremel with soft brass brushes with gentle pressure and enough time to grow grey hair it has done wonderfully making a trapdoor springfield look like a million bucks. I usually dont believe in buffing out antiques but when they are butt ugly I start a buffing. And nomatter what anyone says I have got more cash in hand cleaned than with a dull unattractive finish. im a shooter not collector

The rifle that I have is not shabby, it just looks aged - if that makes sense. I wanted to make it shine when I posted the note, but now think I like the aged look better...
