Bioprof and Twobellys,
I am sure it will wear some. I plan to keep axle grease on it. That will cut down on the wear some. Also, I don't get to shoot as much as I did because of where I live currently. I can't use slowmatch at the public range so I will only get to shoot it when invited to private settings or go to a shoot where it is allowed. So it should last a long time.

PitchyPine,
Way back in 1975 I lived with my bride at a place where I could step out the back door and blast away. What a great place to live. Of course, it wasn't in New Jersey.

I did a little more work saturday. The axle for the dog did not swivel smoothly, but hung up when returning to the rest postition. So I got some valve grinding paste and put some on the shaft. Then I couldn't get the shaft thru the hole. So I hammered it thru a couple of times. That took enough brass that I was able to recoat it and use the dog to turn it. Once it turned without hanging up I washed the grinding compound off and coated it with genuine axle grease, also the pivot for the sear bar. Now it works so smooth and slick that I think I shall have to fashion and install a return spring. When I do it I will take pics and post them.

Okay,
Here are pics of the return spring. It is a little weak but actually works. I think I will put a weak spring on the trigger to help out when I build the gonne.
