Perhaps I'm lazy but I'm sure there is a thread somewhere here that provides instructions on how to add an antique patina to a powder horn. Any help would be appreciated. I'm looking at giving that brown/yellow aged look.

Also, any vendors out there sell an antler powder measure? - Don

As far as adding a yellowish patina, you can soak it in boiled onion skins, can give the horn a yellow color. Or try Potassium Permangenate, and oxidizer. Or a RIT dye bath; many different recipes for that one.

Haven't seen a place that sells antler measures, but I haven't looked for them either.

Also, I've used different colors of kiwi shoe polish for a "stain" on horn and bone. Since have heard of some others who did the same. Cheap and had it on hand.

Your right!....There have been many threads on this. Do a SEARCH and you will have many suggestions as horn coloring/aging seems to be the "subject of the month" on this forum. GOOD LUCK!
