    Converters and the law

Jackwill, Thank you for you thoughts on this. I agree with your take on this. I also was licensed through Boston 25-30 years ago, not easy to do btw. I know what you mean about Boston's "special rules". I really just travel about two miles to a private club to shoot and thought why go to the...

    Converters and the law

:hatsoff: Thanks again guys for the answers and Stumpkiller, point well taken on FREE advise. These Mass. laws make no sense. If you were to read the law muzzle loaders it would seem are exempt from all the laws regarding ownership, carry, etc. etc. They do fall within the same laws as any gun...

    Converters and the law

The law in massbackwards states: The provisions of sections 122 to 129D, inclusive, and sections 131, 131A, 131B and 131E shall not apply to: (A) any firearm, rifle or shotgun manufactured in or prior to the year 1899; (B) any replica of any firearm...

    Safely carrying BP pistol

I use one of those little cone shaped rubber faucet washers with a hole in the center. It's also good for dry firing, to get used to the trigger. It fits around the cap and if you rest the hammer down holds it in place and makes a nice seal as well. Just cock the hammer and it lifts right off...

    Pistol Stock Repair Advise Please

I would take the broken piece stand it up on the flat end and drill with a drill press two or three small dia. holes all the way through,(from the back broken end to the front flat squared end). Then I would match up the broken part to it's mating surface and use the drill bit by hand to locate...

This may be a dumb question?

You could use a center cutting endmill in a drill press, run it at a high speed cause it's small in diameter. Make sure you have the plate held very securely. Go down slow it will work and their cheap $3 for imported version. Get one just a tad larger than screw head dia.

    First time at the range

That's great, glad you had so much fun. I made measures of deer horn tips, hung from a cord around the neck. Got them in different sizes depending on what gun I'm shooting. You could make up some for yourself their easy to do.

    reading patches

Well, there's plenty of folks here that can give you a better answer to this than I. Heck, awhile back I was having trouble even finding my shot patches, but here goes. If the ball is not centered I would guess you could get some blow-by that would likely burn the edge, But I think you would...

Small drill bits (for flash holes or tack prep)

The smallest you can get off the shelf that I know of are a mini 7 piece set made by Dremel at the Home Depot. Smallest are 1/32" and 3/64" and go up to 1/8" and cost around $8.00

    Tips on browning

I'll add my vote to use LMF as well. It is almost fool proof. The results I have had are so good I can't say enough about this stuff. Best of all it's a lot more forgiving if you left behind a little oil from your fingers etc. because it's also a degreaser. The more coats you apply the deeper...
