    Dan I don't remember what the pitch was but it was big thing with me,i remember i had protractor and did a lot of mesureing of the wall.The rifle does not slap my face,going to work on 2f load when it drys up takes about 10 bucks to wash mud of truck now.

    Paul I did lower the charge to 130 2f or 120 3f with .71 ball and denim patch and it shoots both loads same point of impact at 100yd but that because of the low front bead site that i made for it.Kicks like my 06 now i think,its a 33 inch Longhammock barrel.I know somebody going to say 3f is not...

    I build a 73cal flintlock English Sporting Rifle for elk hunting because i kept seeing Grizz tracks and thought my 54 was not big enough,180 2f it kicking real hard and it will take a lot more.But at 68 i don't like getting the hell kicked out of me anymore. :grin:

    200 yard range?

    Frank The way i shoot my 54 flintlock at long targets is i keep the front sight dead on the target and lower the rear sight that way i don't cover up the target.When you find out how much of the front sight blade to hold above your rear sight you will be surprised at the results.

    Which hand saw

    I went to the pawn shop and found a real sharp hand saw for $16 worked good,till i run in to the stright edge on the bottom side couple times.

    I would go with the Chambers i like there parts.There English lock that thay use is real good.Don,t know anything about Caywood i called them one time about a rifle and thay were real rude don't need my doller.

    low front sites

    eagles I have read that with the sight low it will not change the p.o.i if you put more powder in it shooting at 100 yds,i have read this more then once,also say the v with a bead is real good for hunting.I plan on puting this type of sight on my English Sporting rifle if i every get it done.
