    Miroku Kentucky Rifle

I would like to see some pics if you have time. Have you shot yours? If so, how did it do?

    Miroku Kentucky Rifle

I bought some brass screws with the same thread pitch. I’ll probably use one of those and file it down and clean it up. Maybe make two and have a long range and short range version!

    Miroku Kentucky Rifle

I have been repairing/restoring an old Miroku the past couple of months. I know these rifles don’t garner a lot of respect but I have learned a lot from tinkering with it and learning techniques before I move on to more expensive rifles. I have sanded off excess wood, stripped and refinished the...

    Unknown, possibly Asian, flintlock.

I would also recommend being very careful about actually firing that rifle. I am by no means an expert but the trigger guard and butt plate look like formed metal instead of cast. I have never seen that before even in a cheap Miroku Kentucky rifle like I have. It looks more like a repro than a...

    T/C Seneca .45

Yeah. 30% inflation over what we would have paid in 2019. Everything costs more.

    Miroku Ultra-Hi Question

Hello, Can anyone tell me why this rifle is up to the $400 mark on Gunbroker? I thought these rifles were at the lower end of the muzzleloader spectrum. It does have adjustable sights but I don’t see anything that would make me want to pay that much money for it. I think $200 is high. Maybe I’m...

My Frankenstein TC project is complete

I think it’s beautiful. I hate to see anything that can be salvaged and restored thrown away. I am working on an old Miroku .45 caliber Kentucky. Is it worth much? Probably not but the bore looks brand new and it deserves to have a chance at the range. Worst case it can be a nice wall hanger...

    Barrel Browning Question

Thanks for all of the comments. I guess my thing is if you are browning a barrel to make it look old then the rest of the rifle should look old too. If you are browning because you just like the color then I guess it doesn’t matter.

    Barrel Browning Question

Hello, If I decided to brown the barrel on a Traditions Kentucky kit can the case colored side plate and percussion lock components be browned using the same method? I don’t think it would look right to have a browned barrel and a newer looking lock/side plate. Just my personal preference...

    Sears/Miroku Nipple Help

I just bought a Miroku Kentucky rifle and TOW told me it was an M6 x 1 nipple.

    Miroku .45 Kentucky Rifle

Thanks. I have a couple of unopened pounds of Old Eynsford from 2019.

    Miroku .45 Kentucky Rifle

Hello, I had the winning bid on this rifle on gunbroker. I had a previous post here on another Miroku that had a rough bore and I passed on that one. This one is supposed to have an excellent bore and looks to be in good shape. It has either been shot very little or not at all. I should have...

    Bore Condition Opinions

$200 but they always ask for more than anyone would pay for it.

    Bore Condition Opinions

Are Miroku rifles any good? Kinda what I was thinking.

    Bore Condition Opinions

I was thinking about buying it so I can’t shoot it. It’s a pawn shop find.

    Bore Condition Opinions

What are your thoughts on this bore? It’s a 45 caliber Miroku Kentucky. Is it salvageable?

CCI Caps - CCI reply regarding availability

Muzzleloader enthusiasts are a small minority and the next generation has even less interest in the shooting sports. Most kids these days would rather have a new video game than a BB gun. Heck many 16 year olds have no interest in even getting a drivers license much less learning how to use a...

    Traditions KY Rifle Build

OK. I did notice that if the tang is not flush with the stock the nipple face is not parallel with the hammer face. I think they need to hire a new CNC machine programmer. They took too much wood out of the tang inlet.

    Traditions KY Rifle Build

Hello, I am working on my first kit and I am still in the process of fitting up everything and sanding. My question is about the barrel tang. Should it be flush with the stock or recessed? I didn’t want to remove too much wood because it seems like that area is taking the brunt of the recoil...
