    new ramrod just arrived

    today october country just delivered my solid brass undergun ramrod.it is very nicely finished with each end tapped and one end has a grippy portion to grab onto.no more broken rods for me. i can also go to a little thicker patch and still be able to ram the ball down with no fear...

    bevel up or bevel down?

    i have found thru much experamenting for some unknown reasin my flint[davide petrosoli]likes the bevel up. it goes off much better with the bevel up.am i in the minority or doesnt it much matter just do what works ?whats your take on this?

    flint type german or english?

    what type of flint is best? i am now using german. it seems to be shaped more uniformed.it also fits my rather small lock on my davide petersoli kentucky rifle better than the rough shaped english type.what type do you use and why?do either have the same life span?

    just how long will a frizzen last

    i now have about 100 shots thru my davide pedersoli kentucky flint.while it is still throwing sparks just fine i would like to know when i should think about replacing it.also where is a good place to purchase a new frizzen.i would think it would have to be the same brand. PLEASE...

    one hole groups are possible with 1 in 48 twist

    came back from the range today with good results. less than one and one half inch group at 50yards rested.thats five shots mind you.my load is 60g. 3f 490 ball. dry patch 0.015 with me installing the bore butter.the only problem was my ram rod broke. another is on order.
