    SMR Photos Please

Tried and True Varnish oil, a few coats rubbed in. When I could not get the shine I wanted, I put on a coat of Minwax Antique Oil finish. Final polish with rottenstone. No stain.

    Engraved Name on Barrel

Hi, I often see the builder's name engraved on the barrel. What is the preferred method to do this? Do I need to find an engraver? Do I need to learn to engrave (a certain fail!)? This seems so common that there may be a best way to get this done. Thanks!

    Kibler SMR Completed!

Thanks! I used Tried & True Varnish Oil - multiple coats. Then 2 coats of Minwax Antique Oil finish. Then polished it with rottenstone on a rag with a bit of linseed oil. Finished it up with a wax.

Thanks, Jim! You have made it possible for an unskilled rube such as myself to successfully build an excellent rifle. Thank you for a great product, and we all look forward to seeing what is next from Kibler Longrifles.
