    Derusting with Boric Acid Bath

    Both Angier in his book "Firearm Blueing and Browning" and Kit Ravenshear in his "Metalwork Part 1" recommend using a boric acid bath as the safest form of rust removal which both removes rust and protects the underlying metal. Anyone on this Forum used it?

    Does the "System" wear bores faster

    I shoot a fairly wet patch on the range or a well greased patch when hunting. We all know that tough cloth patches even when well lubricated will wear a bore over time. Is it possible that the almost dry patch derived under the "System" will wear a bore more rapidly?
