Not Period Correct but works wonderful

I use the original formula Lehigh Valley lube (I am running low) It works great as a patch lube and after cleaning I run a patch with this on it down the barrel and do not have any rust problems.

If you could only have one......

    I'd take my .54 Hawken

How many of you folks can just walk out your door...

I'm in the middle of WV. I can go to my back yard and shoot.

    Another barrel lug question.

You could always pin the wedge so that if it does come out , it will not fall completely out

    TOTW Mink Oil

I have some TOTW Trappers mink oil but need to get more. I noticed the picture of what they are selling now is a golden yellow. The stuff I have had for quite some time is white. Anyone know why there is a difference in color ? Has TOTW changed something ?

    My rifle

I am open to suggestions. Always looking for ways to get better. P.S. It's a little difficult to carry a Grandson around to shoot for me.

    My rifle

[/img] This is my eldest Grandson shooting my Hawken. He was home on leave from USMC Boot Camp. This group was fired at 50 yards. I did not shoot after him, You know how it is, you just don't want to embarrass a young man.

    My rifle

I think it shoots pretty good. Under 3" at 100 Yards for a 5 shot group (from a sandbag or off sticks) IF, IF I am having a good day. A lot depends on the lighting as to how well I can see. I am using .535 ball, .017 ticking patch lubed with Lehigh Valley Lube ahead of 80grs FFFG Goex.

    My new hawk.

    I like it .

    54 cal impact on steel

I have had the same experience. Steel target would show splatter marks and little dimpling from a 308 rifle but a patched .535 round ball ahead of 80gr FFF would make a lot bigger dent.

    My rifle

Yes , it is .... good eyes you have there. Also, I kinda messed up a bit in the picture.....On my left wrist is my sun dial
