:haha: You're slippin'. I load mine to where I enjoy 'em and I've never shot anything other than round balls in charcoal burning front stuffers in 40 years. I see nothing changes here. I'll check back in a few months. AMF.

    Balls per pound

My knuck was a '47 FL. No thumb calluses from starting that thing. It went to Kali and a new home. See ya.

    Balls per pound

I obviously had it in the wrong place. :surrender: Doesn't matter anyway. FYI, MODS, Capper is a friend of mine. He is allowed to refer to me as knucklehead. There is no need for anyone to be offended. I'm done. Adios :hatsoff:

[/url] Well, I guess you don't need mine. And I can't for the life of me figure out why this would be moved to accessories.

    balls to the pound

Should work out to pretty close to .364 inches. I've got an old chart that runs from 1 to 280 balls per pound and gives inch equivalents. Anybody interested in a particular ball per pound number, feel free to PM.

Capper, I tried it a few times and couldn't tell any difference with my rifle. Went back to leather and stayed with it. W

The flintlock long rifle in combat

RIGHT ON! AS far as Dillin is concerned? That book was written in 1926. I'm reasonably certain that he had access to information from "old timers" who's father's and grandfathers lived in the era's that many of us re-create. Furthermore, Dillin is not the only account that I have read that...

The flintlock long rifle in combat

Shoot me a PM and I'll tell you why the "redcoats" wore red coats and the French officers wear brown trousers.

The flintlock long rifle in combat

Can't argue that. In addition to the above, according to many dispatches and articles written by the loyalists, the rifle company's job was to "murder" British officers at previously unheard of ranges.

The flintlock long rifle in combat

Again from Dillin and THE KENTUCKY RIFLE page 75 third edition; No mention of bayonets.
