Friends, our 2nd Amendment rights are always under attack and the NRA has been a constant for decades in helping fight that fight.
We have partnered with the NRA to offer you a discount on membership and Muzzleloading Forum gets a small percentage too of each membership, so you are supporting both the NRA and us.
I had thought seriously about making one myself. But I wound up getting a decent deal and bought one at the time.
That was an impressive amount of work to make one. It turned out well too. I would have threaded the breechplug though. But otherwise it has that handmade approach that was actually used with it.
That is pretty neat and really took a good deal of time and hand work - he has every right to be proud! I enjoyed seeing the pinned breech plug - looked like a fairly permanent attachment with the countersunk riveted steel pins (and the epoxied linstock behind the breech). I might have also run some solder around the plug just to minimize gas blow back etc. Thanks for posting the linked article!
