    I swear by liquid Acraglas for crack repairs. Its thin and gets down in the small cracks and is tough as $#!t.

    as much as I'd love to take credit for the Carriage, I did not build it. it was built by a man by the name of Dustin Show. I think I will step drill this. Drill first .177 like you said. then drill a .2720 step in it just deep enough to fit the nipple.

    I've got a Hern 1/2 scale Napoleon. It did not have a touchhole drilled in it, so I need to drill one and was wondering what size it should be. I'll be mounting a DGW percussion lock on it as well (5/16-24 musket nipple).

    OK, I HAVE ORDERED KASENIT FROM DIXE, AND WILL WAIT FOR THAT TO COME IN. I'VE BEEN READING UP ON JAPANESE REPRO'S AND HEAR ALOT OF COMPLAINTS OF LOW CARBON STEEL BEING USED. IT FAILED THE FILE TEST. AND YES I HAVE BEEN USING FRESS FLINTS FROM DIXIE.

    Giving your barrel a blow?

    I usaly blow through the venthole, keeps the muzzle in a safe direction and dose the same job. it makes a little smoke cloud come out of the muzzle :winking:
