    Pipe Hawk

I don't know why everyone is telling you it's fine. It's not. It's absolutely horrible. You need to ship it to me immediately for proper disposal

    My New Bag

    Very nice!

    Linen source.

All I can ever find at my local store is the linen-look stuff, and not even a big selection of that. You would think linen would be easier to find in the South. However, oddly enough, they actually have a modest selection of wool now...but still no linen in a part of the country where wool is...

    Linen source.

Your Jo-Ann Fabrics must have a better selection than mine does then. I've been looking for actual linen in mine for over a decade and nothing.

    Linen source.

I'm not 100% sure about the rules here regarding linking, but just google: Wm. Booth,Draper Burnley & Trowbridge Both sell linen, wool, etc and are supposedly pretty period correct. Honestly, I don't know enough about textiles to say for certain, but my next fabric order will be from one of...

    Tradeing

Well, FWIW, at my last event I needed some buckskin to make some new moccasins. I traded a trekker's skillet for the materials and some quick instruction to make my first pair, so I guess I do some trading :)

    18th century Southeastern embellishments

Paul, That's kind of what I've been gathering as well. Material culture of the Creeks from the 19th century seems to be all but non-existant as far as the internet is concerned, and a couple of conversations with some folks who know far more than I do on that subject came up with zip as well...

    18th century Southeastern embellishments

I've looked at her stuff as well, but again no information about 18th century motifs IIRC. While many of the modern Native American artisans speak of "traditional" element, it's hard to tell when those items became traditional. From what I understand, much of what is considered traditional...

    18th century Southeastern embellishments

Bill, That was actually one of my first stops. Unfortunately the Southeastern beadwork I've seen on that site is 19th century in origin, so I have no idea if that's what it would have looked like a century earlier. I sooooo should have opted for something more northern ;)

    18th century Southeastern embellishments

Yeah, that's what I've been trying to do. Unfortunately, I'm coming up with zip. I was hoping someone else had something that I haven't been able to find. After all, a lot of folks have been doing this a lot longer that lil old me

So, with the bag I'm constructing (as soon as the leather is stretched that is), I also plan on doing a knife sheath for a trade knife I bought on clearance from Crazy Crow. However, I'd like for both to have some real style that keeps them from looking like what everyone else might have. My...

    Frontier Festival encampment

I snagged mine from Lowe's. I'd imagine any home improvement store would have the same.

    New Horn

Now that's a mighty fine horn! Very, very nice. I'd be proud to hang that one on my side :)
