    whitetail hunting loads

Is 65 grains of 3F behind a 50 cal. prb enough for deer or hogs? My flint shoots this load like driving tacks. I just do not want to be shooting to light of a load. Thanks

Converting a flintlock to a caplock

Yes I am using real black powder and no it does not spark as reliable as I think it should. As for strait drilled or lined Im not sure.I always assumed that when I was not getting a good spark that I did not have my flint in right?? Any suggestions.

Converting a flintlock to a caplock

First thanks to everyone for all the great info. I do think Im getting a slower ignition then I should be. Other than drilling out my touch hole what might help it fire faster? As for a custom made rifle where is a good place to start looking? Thanks again.

    Missouri Muzzle loader season

Missouri really dropped the ball this time. I have lived here my entire life and it is a trend that our Missouri Department of Conservation is going to get even more liberal in the future. They fly it uder the banner of hunter recrutment but it boils down to more dollars and that is really a sad...

Thanks for all the good info fellas. I'm going to try shooting it some more to see if I can work through this. I know it can be done and like someone said it will be a whole lot cheaper. Besides flinters are pretty cool.
