    What's with the PC police?!?!

Just seems dumb to have to put a warning on a gun and hunting site, it's not like it's a TV show someone may click on by mistake. Guess we'll have warnings that the sky may be blue and the sun could hurt your eyes. Just a continuation of the dumbing down of society, that and the mistaken and...

    What's with the PC police?!?!

Anybody catch the big red warning on the main forum page for the hunting section that says "Warning, this may contain pictures of dead animals"???? When did the PC police take over the forum. If the muzzleloading forum feels the need to start this manure I'm thinking this is no longer a good...

    Silver Lehigh got bloodied!

Britsmoothy, it went down fast, within 20 yards. The big stags are tougher, they can carry quite a bit. Swampy, it does feel pretty good! I put the hide in the freezer, waiting to get a few built up before doing any tanning this year. This one's got your name on it when I get to it if you...

    Whitetails and .45's...undergunned?

I've taken 2 whitetails and 2 sika so far last year and this year with 2 different .45's, both shooting .440 RB and 60 grains FFF. No problem with any, never felt undergunned, longest shot was 80 yards on one of the whitetails, ball was lodged under the far skin, even broke one shoulder bone.

    Silver Lehigh got bloodied!

Had a fun 3 day muzzleloader season here this past week. Didn't do anything on whitetails, but sika hunting was decent. Passed 3 spikes and a few does, never did come across a big stag, so the last evening I filled the doe tag and got the first kill with the new gun. Now I can call the build...

    "Ole Nelly" draws blood

    Assateague Returns

Sure thing! Hunt is run by the Feds on the National Seashore, not DNR, that's why you couldn't find it on their site. The link for 2008-09 hunting regs has all the details. :hatsoff: http://www.nps.gov/asis/hunting-at-assateague.htm

    Finished my first, sorta

Looks good, but it's not done until it's bloody!

    Only edible game?

I eat most everything I hunt and kill, always have. Exceptions are crows (hate 'em, they get all the duck eggs in the spring around here and we shoot all we can), stray cats (again, they take too many quail and songbirds and aren't even natural/native) and the few predators I take now and...

how many are going to this years Eastern?

I went to last year's at Muddy Run to check it out, but this one is a bit too far for a day drive. Plus that's when the sika rut is beginning, I think I'm going to be a bit busy.

    Belt Pouch

Looks great! But bags, belt pouches, you're too busy (or bored, depending on the viewpoint). You need hunting season to get here!!

    Assateague Returns

They've got the primitive muzzleloader hunt at Assateague Island National Seashore in Maryland again this year for sika and whitetail. October 10-18, with an all weapon muzzleloader season the following week October 20-27. Normal MD muzzleloading season is October 16-18, but AINS has separate...

    My new (?) tomahawk head

Can't comment much on hawk heads, but being in the middle of my 13th season of Mosuito Control work I commend you on your diligent removal of standing water and prevention of Aedes albopictus! Would save us all problems if more people did so. :hatsoff:

    Finished the Silver Lehigh!!

Thanks for all the kind comments! :v This is only my second. Where on the Shore are you? There's more of us here than you know...

    Finished the Silver Lehigh!!

A few hours of practice spread over a couple weeks, this was my first real attempt at engraving. Happy with that for the first try, but I need to improve on it for the next one.
