    Small caliber muzzleloading pistol build

You can also go with an under hammer or mule ear and screw the nipple into the barrel at a right angle.

    Big Bang project

I believe they are gain twist. Each barrel may have a different twist.

    62 Cal Pistol Build

Your breach plug threads may be metric.

    62 Cal Pistol Build

You could line the barrel and have the breach seated against the liner. Problem is you would end up with a smaller bore but it would be safe to shoot. It's a shame Dixie would sell things that are not up to par but this has gone on for a long time. I have received many things from Dixie, some...

    Opening the Cylinders ?

If you are working on a gun with a thread in barrel you can make a dummy barrel to guide the reamer. This also makes sure the cylinder bore is lined up with the barrel.

    Opening the Cylinders ?

This is a common practice. You can get a reamer here. Next you will need a fixture to hold the cylinder and a good drill press. I use a rotary table on the mill with a fixture to hold the cylinder

Copper coated steel bullet stuck - suggestions?

It would cost less to install a new barrel and be better. It would have taken a lot of force to get a BMG bullet started in a 50 cal muzzle loader.

    barrel making stuff

M.D., The "nack that you talk about I have always thought of as a God given talent. There are some people that seem to come by things very easy while others struggle. I can make a rifling machine from scratch with no plans but I can't play the guitar like my wife can. Different people have...

    Rifled Liner Added To SxS

T.J.'s makes a few muzzle loader liners in 45 cal and 50 cal. The 45 is 5/8" OD and the 50s are 11/16". He also makes air gun barrels. He sent me a sample of a 58 cal. barrel but I think the rifling would be a little shallow for patched round ball.(859-635-5560)

    20 mm barrel

I made a 72 caliber hand gun many years back. With the big wad cutters I was using it looked like someone use a 3/4" gasket punch on the target. The hollow base wad cutters were about 700 grain and for target shooting I used 15 grains of powder. It was a fun gun to shoot but my brother-in-law...

    20 mm barrel

It turned out 1.2" across the flats for 12" and then tapered round, 38" overall length. very hard, has not been draw filed yet because I don't have that much energy. It had the chamber cut off when I got it.

    Breech Plug Length

I have always tried for the same depth as the diameter, 1/2" diameter + 1/2" long. On the barrels I make for another company that makes underhammers the length of a 3/4" diameter plug is 1.5" long and the nipple is threaded into the plug through a counter sunk barrel.

    20 mm barrel

I have one that I made part octagon for a rifle, have not done any more to it.
