    PJC, She can have her Brother's hand-me-down. A .45 cal Southern Mtn, made by Brian Turner. Its got a shorter pull, and her Brother (13) has outgrown it already.

    We were hunting out of a nice warm blind. For some reason, Emma retreated back to the blind when it was time to pull out the knife and start cutting. :youcrazy: We probably saw close to 30 deer running around before and for several minutes after the shot. Way cool.

    1803 Harper's Ferry

    I use 60gr 3f for25 and 50 yards, and 80gr 3f for 100yds in mine. The same amount of 2f wouldprolly work good too. I use a .530rb, patched with ticking. I got it in 1991 from Dixie. Its a nice gun. Java Man

    Forty cal barrel twist

    General reply here....not necessarily Mike I have two .40's, both 1:48, and shoot well with up to 60gr FFFg. I would say that is close enough to a magnum load with a .40.

    Thanks Swampy. Room for improvement, but I'm happy considering the way the gun was moving around. Didn't need a short starter either with that coned muzzle. :thumbsup:
