Some European hunting rifles were short like that. Keep the target in pistol range, should work ok.

I like coupe’s idea of a mare’s leg but you’ve gone from blanket gun to up your sleeve gun. I like it. I might even try it because it looks like a lot of fun.

I did that years ago, used a heavy duty zip tie to hold it down. It was fun for a CO weekends at the range.

me myself i would finish it out with a nose cap cva kentucky pistol style that clamps the end of the stock to the barrel and a thimble on a short rib

Gopher it! I attached a stock to a CVA Flintlock Kentucky pistol back in the day. It was a good shooter out to 60 yards.
