I really don’t care what anyone uses. Same way I don’t care what the latest fad color of hair is. I’m gonna shoot BP cause I like it. You want pyrodex? More power to you. I’m so out of it, I didn’t even know triple 7 was an alternative. I thought it was for cowboy loads…

Shooting is shooting. As long as you are being safe , you shoot what you want on the firing line. I don’t like know it alls wasting my time however.

Well, you might benefit from a thicker skin but that's just my view on it. Other than my family, I don't care what anybody thinks about me and my family respects that.

But, not everyone wants to be the unshaven guy in the supermarket wearing bedroom slippers, pajama bottoms, a holey t shirt and uncombed hair. That's how you will end up if you follow my advice!

substitute boxer shorts for the pajama bottoms and you have seen me at safeway!

Don’t have any issues at my gun club. I usually get great comments from members about my BP pistols and the smoke cloud and BOOM they make. For a while only Pyrodex and T Seven was the only thing available locally so I used several jugs of Pyro and still have one un opened jug. To me I see or feel no difference between BP and subs, they both work and go bang.I really don’t care what brand or type of powder you use. Now the crunch seems to be with caps.

I have what I need without the need to brag, That’s what so sad about Internet forums. I really could care less of what anyone has. Or how they were prepared, Get over yourself….

Things said from guys like the one in the OPs thread are what made me give up on Public shooting ranges. That, and all the unsafe gun practices, and just downright rude people who thought they owned the place. I'd go to have a relaxing day and wound wind up arguing with some jerk because they didn't like the smell of the smoke I made, or that they got hit with flash from my flintlock, even though I just a minute before warned them what would happen if they sat in line with the vent hole and they ignored me. Nahh, no more of that BS for me. I joined a club and won't even go back to the public range again.

My favorite retort to know-it-alls is ... "Well, I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong ... " Leaves them speechless ... LOL!

Used it on a Vice President of a company once, he was stunned, but turns out I was right (of which I knew that of course). He loved me after that, as I was the only one to ever question him and/or who ever had the 'nads to stand up to him.
If I know I'm right, I'll use this: " I've made so many mistakes in my life, it's nice to see someone else do it for a change..."

Shoot alone too right , I was hunting with two Italians one talking to me the other fired from 100yards. The wind in our face as a 12 bore slug wizzed between are noses not to mention the noise , much as I liked them I never hunted with them again. That was at lanlattin. 70 miles inland from Lagos Nigeria My friend did not realise he had loaded a slug Gives me the shivers 40 years later. Do take care , it was not our day to die .

I used pyrodex once about 45 years ago when the goes plant blew up and the Holy black was not available. I was so impressed that I started making my own black. About the time I got my method perfected, goes was available again. That was the first and last time I ever used "substitutes". So when I see someone using that stuff, I avoid them and do my own thing. If I wanted to use modern powder, I would continue the blasphemy and get an inline, with a scope and call it a muzzleloader. Some of us are purists, and some, well you know ... so anyone shooting fake stuff, you know, the guy with the vinyl shooting bag and plastic accoutrements, is not into the same thing as I am, no more than the guy with an ar15 or gucchi glock.
