My wife says I have issues ...

Oh I definitely understand; has often happened to me i.e. seller's remorse. I don't know why I do it 😂; I'm a trader. My wife tends to be opposite, hoarder.

Traditions Kentucky Rifle, really not a bad gun

Look for a Shenandoah (bottom rifle). It's basically the same gun with a one-piece stock and a double set trigger. I really enjoy these little carbines. Handy; inexpensive. Like Tumbledown said, they're fun to mod and customize. To say these guys have barrel making down pat is an...

My wife says I have issues ...

😂 I have 4 and I thought I had too many. Generally, with exceptions, I don't collect; if I don't shoot it I usually tend to get rid of it.

ETipp, Interesting thread in here from 12 years ago on similar question about .45's: LINK Example quotes: Rifleman1776: "I'll betcha ye could fill the Grand Canyon with all the squirrels that have been killed with a .45 cal. ml rifle." Flash Pan Dan: "I have used a 45 for small game. Worked...

    Pedersoli owners, speak up

No offense deGheyn, but I tried that method, and sure, you get a clean bore and easy loading, but it does NOTHING to help the fouling in the breech, channel, drum, touch hole, etc area - in other words everything behind the patch and ball still clogs up the same. Including the crud ring Etipp...

    Pedersoli owners, speak up

Ed, RE> Pedersoli's and the patent breech: They make a nice well-finished weapon, but the $$$ cost is getting out of hand. Pardon if I'm wrong (and experts in here correct me please), but I think all the Italian and Spanish caplock patent & chambered breeches are similar, Pedersoli...

    Gardening ..again

Didn't read the whole 28 pages, but can I ask about the "food grade buckets" mentioned on the first page? Do regular plastic buckets, like those orange home depot buckets, leach out chemicals or something?

Same here; I want a slender non-swamped .36 or .40, caplock. I may build a 13/16 .36 Vincent from Pecatonica, maybe, I dunno. I'll be visiting Dixie Gun Works soon; may look some of their small bore stuff before I jump one way or another. I wish I could look at one of those Pedersoli...

    2024/2025 Squirrel Hunting Thread...........

Absence of squirrels in neighborhood during the day very obvious. But, in my driveway I'm still seeing sign they're eating - in fact LOTS of sign all over the regular areas they sit and munch. They eat the head and the abdomen of the bug, and discard the wings. Wings laying all over the place...
