Well I got her to spark tonight and it gets better the more I allow the flint to wear into the frizzen face. Apparently ,unbeknown to me when one uses kasnite to harden a frizzen face there apparently are some oxides that need to be cut through to expose the carbon infused metal for the flint to react against.
I tried some of the recommendations and what started the sparking was turning the flint upside down and adding one layer of leather under the leather gripping the flint. It does hit much higher and at nearly 90 degrees but that is when it started to spark. It beat the first flint up pretty quickly knocking big flakes off but as the frizzen is getting the face scuffed up and evened out the flints are not chipping like they first did. Thanks for all the helpful tips and things to try, it looks like it will work now but won't be able to shoot it until I get back from my trip.
It is hitting way to high on the frizzen face and once I get the face leveled out and scuffed up a bit more I will turn it back over and try it at the 2/3rds height and about 65 degree angle. MD
