Bore condition, stock condition and lock functionality means very little when it comes to buying guns sight unseen.

Appears to be like a Navy Arms import made in Belgium ... as I have an NA BP arm here with a similar patch box, although a different model.

Personally I think it is over-priced for a 54 smooothy ... And without knowing the bore condition, that's too much of a risk for me.

I bought the twin to this one from Dixie Gun Works a long time ago, around 1970 or so. I won't call it junk but it was cheaply made and priced accordingly - just under $20.00. An on-line currency converter makes that from $150 to $170 today, and that was for a new one. The barrel was proofed and surprisingly accurate with round ball but the stock was a very soft pine or something similar. The lock was not quite up to CVA standards of the time and their locks weren't the best back then. The internals were very roughly machined; hardly polished at all. Those sling swivels were obviously added later. Not necessarily a bad thing, I just thought I'd mention it. Having owned one and had fun with it I'd buy another one but not at that price. By the time you pay GunBrokers relatively new buyer's fee, shipping and state sales tax if your state has such you're probably going to be north of $400.00. Up to you, of course. You'd have fun with it but it seems overpriced, even in today's sometimes crazy market. Good luck.

Well I've had more than a few of these small caliber Spanish, Belgian garden or monkey guns. Some are better than others but none of them are a Kibler. The Spanish made were are proofed but at lower pressures. That point being I have only fired shot out of them, no ball. But some do. That being said I've had a ball with them. Rabbits, & squirrels fear my name <G> I sold my 10mm to a gentleman here on the forum and still have my 28ga. $400 or over is way to high in my opinion, especially if there is no gurantee of lock, trigger function or bore pics.

I'm thinking he is about 50% too high. I've got the same gun in flintlock. It's been a few years ago but, if I remember correctly, total was right around 100 bucks. Seller didn't tell me the lock didn't work but, at that price I kept it anyway. I'll fix it one day. In the last two years I've seen several of them on GB and, at least the ones I've watched, seldom bring $200. If I'm watching one on there that is way too high, but I still want it, I just roll the dice and keep tabs on it. Sometimes somebody will buy it but most of the time it stays there for months and they either quit listing it or drop the price.

One problem with black powder firearms is that people expect to clean them like a modern firearm and give up after pulling out patch after patch of tar. Some folks have the patience of Job and clean their BP like that and water has never touched their gun, but I wouldn’t purchase a used BP firearm without knowing the condition of the barrel.

Actually that ramrod is full length, The RR hole is drilled to the buttplate. They are rather sturdy with a steel button on the end and make a good field rod. I re-tap the threaded end to 6-32 and make an adapter for 8-32 jags
