I do not know the ph/c of wooden knife sheaths. However, I think they were used covered with leather for swords and knives. Anyways, here is one I made for an Ontario Knife Co. carbon steel blade, reground to a roach pattern. Since I am from Missouri it features Missouri Black Walnut scales and sheath with a Missouri Commemorative quarter inlaid in a leather carrier depicting the Voyage of Discovery. 20191022_095709.jpg 20191022_100502.jpg

I like it! It reminds me of my bone handled Marbles Cowboy knife I carry all the time. Had to make a new leather sheath for it, the factory sheath was a waste of good leather. The wood sheath idea goes way back. Think Samurai.

I have two knives with wooden sheaths, a Nordic custom that the maker also made the sheath for, and one I made.
